Why I called Maggi my comfort food is because whenever I am dead tired and dont even want to go out for dinner or lunch then Maggi is something which comes to my rescue.
It is something nobody denies and everybody likes it rather I would say everybody loves it. Every 90s kid has beautiful memories attached to this . because at that time only one instant noodles were available in market and that was Maggi . unlike today there are numerous variety of the instant noodles in market . Whenever I cook Maggi I always tell my son this story and now this story is on his tips so whenever I cook it he will start repeating the story and when I ask him why are you doing this he will say You will narrate the story and again your eyes will get wet so enjoyment of eating Maggi will be spoiled. but these tears are not of sadness these are the tears because I miss my childhood that mischief , teasing my sisters and asking my grandpa for the money ..
Yes whenever we wanted to have Maggi me and my sisters use to collect money at that time my mother used to give us 50 paisa a day and my grandfather he used to give us 1 Rs a day so collectively we used to get 1 and half Rs each.so we were three and were able to collect only 4 and half Rs and remaining 5 and half Rs we used to ask our grandfather to give us and first he used to say no but in front of his granddaughters demand he always used to give up and end-up paying Rs 20 because he new that one packet will not be enough for 3 of us. And I still remember he used pronounce it Mungi and we used to correct him its Maggi not Mungi..
Only difference is at that time we used to make it as per the directions and now I when I make it I try to put as many as vegetable to make it little healthy.
